We are pleased to announce that Ipsos has acquired 60% of Strategic Puls Group. This acquisition enables IPSOS to enter the Western Balkan region by taking the leading position in the market research industry. ARJIL acted as exclusive financial adviser to IPSOS. Founded as a joint venture between Belgrade (Serbia) based Strategic Marketing and Zagreb (Croatia) based Puls, Strategic Puls Group is the leading Market Research agency in the high growth Western Balkans region. The Strategic Puls group is the leader in the two largest markets in the region: Serbia and Croatia, and has market research teams in all Western Balkans countries. With more than 144 employees, the group covers the whole region and reported a turnover close to € 8m in 2007. Shane Farrell, CEO of the Central and Eastern Europe and Africa area: «The Balkan region represents a research market of 60 million euros that is expected to grow strongly. Ipsos has had offices in Central Eastern Europe (Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania) but had no presence in the Balkans so far. With Strategic Puls, the Group can now count on operational capabilities in this strategic area which will enable Ipsos to serve its major clients in these new markets.” With approximately € 979m of turnover in 2008, Ipsos is the world’s third global survey-based company. To date, the group has offices in 56 countries and does research in more than 100 countries around the world. Since 1990, Ipsos has grown dramatically, creating and acquiring more than 60 companies worldwide. The group has around 8,000 employees and offers its services to more than 5,000 clients. This transaction confirms the expertise of ARJIL in the Balkans in managing complex transactions’ conditions raised by the social, legal, fiscal and political constraints of each country of the Region.
